Stepping Forward in 2026, Starting EMDR and Getting Visible

Starting EMDR Therapy

One of the biggest things I open up about is starting EMDR therapy.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a structured form of therapy designed to help process difficult or stuck experiences. During EMDR, you recall specific memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, like following movement with your eyes or using alternating tapping or sounds. The goal is to help your brain reprocess these memories so they feel less intense over time.

I share what it was like starting this process and why I felt ready to talk about it openly.

Choosing to Be More Open
