When I sat down with my friend Courtenay, I knew our conversation would be insightful—but I didn’t expect it to leave me thinking about wellness and motherhood in such a grounded, intentional way.
Courtenay is a fitness enthusiast, a personal trainer, and a mom of three incredibly athletic teenage girls. Her family homeschools, which means their schedule isn’t just full—it’s constantly shifting. And yet, she shows up for herself, her family, and her clients with presence, passion, and purpose.
One of my favorite takeaways from our talk was her approach to fitness and movement. She doesn’t believe in rigid routines. Instead, she listens to her body and adjusts based on her season of life.
“There are weeks when I can push hard, and other times my body’s asking me to pull back. I’ve learned to honor both.”
That mindset is something I think so many of us can learn from. Wellness isn’t about following a strict plan—it’s about knowing your body, tuning in, and making choices that feel good in real time.
Courtenay also shared her experience working as an instructor at the Montana Method and her passion for training women one-on-one. Her mission is to help women feel strong, supported, and confident—without comparison or burnout.
We also got into the topic of supplements and navigating today’s overwhelming wellness landscape. Courtenay was refreshingly honest about how easy it is to fall into the trap of following influencer recommendations, even when they’re not tailored to your needs.
Our chat reminded me how powerful it is to have these kinds of real, grounded conversations—especially as women who are trying to do it all. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to health, parenting, or life, and Courtenay’s story is a beautiful reminder of that.
From Connecticut to Florida, from early motherhood to now raising three teenage girls who are thriving in their own right, Courtenay’s journey is full of heart, hustle, and wisdom. I’m so grateful she took the time to share it with me—and now with you.
If there’s one thing I took away from our conversation, it’s this: wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s about tuning in, showing up, and staying true to yourself—even when life is chaotic.
Thank you, Courtenay, for being a light and an inspiration.
